Saraf Furniture has announced its plans to recruit over 500 members of the LGBTQ+ community in line with the company’s Pride Month initiatives.

As per the plan outlined by Saraf Furniture, the company plans on opening 50 new offline retail outlets over the next three years. The company is opening these outlets with the hope of staffing them primarliy with LGBTQ+ employees.

The company is already quite active in recruiting LGBTQ+ talent across different operations. Citing the results as “overwhelmingly positive,” Sara Furniture elaborated that their LGBTQ+ employees have a retention rate of 90%, which is a great positive indicator of the company’s diversity and inclusiveness.

“Through this initiative, we are not just opening new showrooms—we are building spaces that offer dignity, representation and belonging to the LGBTQ+ community,” Raghunandan Saraf, founder and CEO of Saraf Furniture, emphasised.

In a bid to make its new initiative effective, Saraf Furniture is planning to organise sensitisation workshops for its existing employees. Additionally, the company is working alongside LGBTQ+ organisations and is strengthening its internal support mechanisms to ensure inclusivity within the workplace.

“At Saraf, we understand that great design emerges from the intersection of different peoples and cultures,” Raghunandan Saraf stated, adding, “We view our expansion not only as opening a new front for customers but as a means to provide opportunities, dignity, and a sense of belonging. The LGBTQ+ community has helped advance our journey in so many ways not only through their work but by their presence and culture of strength and authenticity.”
