Since March 10, 2025, Infosys has implemented its new policy that mandates its employees to work from the office for at least 10 days a month. To execute the policy, Infosys announced that it was introducing new “system interventions” on the mobile applications that the employees use to mark their attendance.
After the policy was announced, many Infosys employees voiced concerns over potential fallout from using more work-from-home days than the new policy stated. Some wondered if the implementation of the new “system intervention” may lead to leave deductions if the policy was not followed to the letter.
Addressing these concerns, Infosys announced that employees can indeed still avail of additional work-from-home days if their manager approves the request. Previously, Infosys had announced that their mobile application would no longer accept work-from-home requests by default. The new announcement seems to be a natural progression of how things will proceed after the new changes.
The Infosys mobile application now shows employees their remaining work-from-home days to help them keep track of their balance. If the employees exceed the limit, the days will be marked as an “exception” for which they will need to submit their manager’s approval.
While the new addition to the work-from-home policy does allow more flexibility to the work arrangements, some employees have also voiced concerns that the implementations will be highly dependent on what kind of relationship employees have with their managers.
