Rajneet Singh Kohli, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Britannia Industries, has resigned from his position. The company shared the news on March 6, 2025, announcing that Kohli’s resignation would be effective from March 14, 2024.

“The Board of Directors of the Company vide Circular Resolution passed today, i.e., March 6, 2025, has noted the resignation of Rajneet Singh Kohli, and he shall be relieved from the services of the company w.e.f close of business hours on March 14, 2025,” Britannia stated in its regulatory stock exchange filing on Thursday.

Varun Berry, the Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Britannia, shared more, stating “Rajneet Singh Kohli has decided to resign from the services of the company to pursue an external opportunity. We thank him for his contribution during his tenure as the CEO and member of the Britannia board and wish him the best in his future endeavours.”

Kohli himself expressed his gratitude to Britannia and Berry in his resignation letter. “It has been a privilege to work alongside you (Berry) and as part of Britannia Leadership for over 2.5 years,” he shared. “I am grateful for the opportunity and humbled to lead the largest and most loved iconic Britannia brand, work with a talented team, and contribute to the company’s success. We have made real progress, and I am proud of what we have achieved together.”

Kohli joined the food giant in September 2022 when he took up the role of CEO and Executive Director. Under his leadership, the company had focused on diversifying its products, expanding on its healthy food product options. His tenure also saw Britannia expanding its market in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. From March 2024 to December 2024, Britannia’s outlet numbers increased from 27.9 lakh outlets in March to 28.8 lakhs, while the rural distributors’ numbers increased from 30,000 to 31,000.

For the third quarter of the 2024-2025 financial year, Britannia recorded a revenue of ₹4,463 crore, which was 6.5% higher than last year. Its net profit came to ₹582 crore, indicating an increase of 4.5%. In February 2025, Britannia stated that it would increase its prices by 4.5% by the end of the 2024-2025 financial year. The company implemented a 2% increase in the third quarter, which led to an increase of ₹100 crore in its revenue. The change was stated to offset the rising costs of materials like cereal, oil, and cocoa.

Prior to Britannia, Kohli has worked with Domino’s India (Jubilant Foodworks), The Coca-Cola Company, and Asian Paints, among others. His exit from Britannia will mark a significant change in the company’s leadership. On January 31, 2025, Amit Doshi also submitted his resignation from the post of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and he will be stepping down from his role on March 17, 2025. While Siddhartha Gupta is slated to take over the CMO position, Britannia has not yet shared who its new CEO will be.
