ITM Group of Institutions has appointed Jhuma Sarkar as the Vice President of Human Resources (HR).
Active in the HR industry for over two decades, Sarkar is an expert in performance management, strategic HR leadership, and organizational development. Her other areas of expertise include training and development, career path and succession planning, HR strategies, and compensation and benefits, which includes revamping payroll with a focus on taxation management.
For her skills, Sarkar received the Women Achiever Award from Genius HR Excellence Awards in 2016 and 2018. The World HRD Congress forum also awarded her the same title in 2017.
Before joining ITM, Sarkar was the Performance Excellence Head for Prince Pipes and Fittings. She was responsible for talent management through performance management, learning and development, rewards and recognition, and organizational development interventions during her tenure. She also oversaw strategic workforce plans and career path designs.
Sarkar’s HR career began in May 2004 when she joined TMI Network as a Consultant in the company’s branch in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She learned about recruitment under the guidance of her Branch Head and Vice President of Operations, and she credits him even today for the methodology she continues to use today.
Over the years, Sarkar has worked for Lodha Group, Emco, Travel Post, Tamarind Tours, Sharyans Resources (under the parent company Umbrella), and Shapoorji Pallonji Armada Oil Exploration. An advocate of yoga and vipassana meditation, Sarkar claims that her interventions are rooted in the concept of “Pragya,” or wisdom.
